Here's my story. I started my period when i was about 11 or 12 years of age which lasted 7 days. I never suffer from excruciating pain until i was in high school at age 15. The first time i felt this type of pain was when i was at home on a Sunday morning. I got up and went to the bathroom and i noticed i was feeling very dizzy and weak. I went inside the bathroom as as soon as i sat down to pee a lot of blood came out and out of no where my whole body started to hurt. It hurt's so bad i started to cry at the same time i started having fever like symptoms.I heard back then that it was good to sit in a tube full of hot water to ease the pain so i plug my tub and got in it. As soon as i jumped in the pain became worse. I then crawled out of the tub and sat back on the toilet and finally gave up and cried for help. At this time i was crying and screaming because of how painful it became. My mother came in the bathroom and i was butt naked and crying to her how much it hurts.
She quickly dress me and took me to my room before i could reach the bed i fell to the ground and screamed some more. By this time the period pain was just unbearable i just want to die. My father came to my room and panic and told my mom to make me soup and put Chinese rubbing oil on my back. The Oil is suppose to help heat your body from the inside out when you get a cold or flu. My mother basically held me up while she fed me and she gave me really hot tea. About an hour later the pain lessen. And i went to sleep and woke up okay. I forgot to mention that i get my period every month sometimes once a month sometimes twice a month. Then i soon realize that i would get the excruciating pain ever once in a while. This caused me to miss so many days of school and early departure from school. I researched and found nothing that could help me during these years. All i did to take the pain away was take 650 mg pills about 4 or 6 pills a day while on my period and drink really hot tea or hot water. Nobody i know has this type of problem. I just didn't understand what was wrong with me. Now and then i looked on the internet to see and all i came across was take pills or go see the doctor. I don't have any insurance so i never went to see a doctor. When i was 17 I became pregnant and i was only 2 months preggo before i bleed and had a miscarriage. When i went to the hospital because of the pain. They took me in and put me to sleep and did surgery on me. They gave me 4 months of free insurance i believe. I had a gynecologist doctor who did only 2 check ups on my and he gave me birth control pills and told me i might have Endometriosis. Told me to come back six month later for a checkup and i told them i had no money and they helped me that once and i never been back again.
I supposedly had ab normal cells and that's all i know. Before i knew it my 3 month free health insurance was no longer there and ever since then i still have the same problem. I tried applying for insurance but got rejected and currently I'm trying to apply to other health insurance. No the smears would not show up endometriosis, adhesions or ovarian cysts I am afraid. Usually an ultrasound will be done to detect cysts, and a laparoscopy (small telescope inserted through an incision below the belly button under General Anaesthetic), will be used to determine adhesions and endometriosis. This is not as bad as it sounds really and once they establish the problem the efforts to reduce it such as removing the endometriosis or cysts etc as much as possible are also done with very small incisions that heal quickly. Bad news is that cysts often recur in certain people and endometriosis and adhesions do tend to return in a relatively short space of time. Mostly the best option seems to be getting the right kind of pain relief such as the Mefenamic Acid tablets. Of course if your problem was more serious such as an ectopic pregnancy this operation would save your life.
