Tape or tie each spring to the track, then use pliers to remove the lift cables from the lower brackets on each side. Disassemble the spring and pulley assemblies.While one or two helpers hold the door in place, remove the clamps. Set a block of wood under the door landing to keep from pinching your fingers and then lower the door. Working from top to bottom, remove the brackets holding the door sections together and the roller hinges on each side. Remove the top section and repeat the process on the next section.Use a hammer to remove the jambs on both sides of the door. This should expose the existing curb and wall framing resting on top of it. These are those simple steps that are to be followed to get the garage door removed for whatever reason it may be.
