Many safety tests have to be put on the high-quality electrical products, including pressure testing, insulation resistance testing, earth resistance testing, current leakage testing and so on. The most tedious part of these safe tests is the current leakage test. Products can be detected with abnormal current leakage by the test. The current leakage tester is the commonly used test equipment which tests the current leakage.
What is the current leakage current tester
Current leakage test actually contains three different tests. Two of these were tested on the ground current leakage and current leakage test case. Under normal circumstances it is applied to grounded metal products. The third one is the component current leakage test. The majority is applied in medical devices. These tests mentioned above are made on the premise that the products are safe to use and will not cause harm.
Operating current leakage test
In recent years, many products pose safety requirements on products with current leakage tests. No matter in product design testing or production line testing, especially in the design stage, designing engineers can get lots of important and integrated information about the products through current leakage testing and the products are more in line with safety standards. When the measured object is in the specified rated voltage or 1.1 times the rated output voltage, that is to say the product is in test and fault conditions. In the earth current leakage test, measurement is paid on the object so that the current size is determined on the flow back of the system neutral (System Neutral). In case current leakage test, measurement of the current size is put on object at different points on the chassis to the system neutral point.
In the current leakage test, the measured current can be used to calculate the set approximation in the pressure test of the current trip. This is only an approximation, because different test materials, equipments, components of the deviations may cause small current leakage differences between the readings. When calculation is done on the inter-related leakage current setting, what matters is to understand the basic difference between the pressure test and the current leakage test. Even if most current leakage testers provide the output line (L / N) switch test, the carrier component to the measured leakage current size of the enclosure is the only object of measurement. Pressure test goes on with simultaneous measurement of the use of two current-carrying components of leakage current, and therefore a higher leakage current reading is shown. An effective way is to set the current trip about pressure test results the following formula 20% to 25%: (withstand test voltage/leakage current test voltage) × current = voltage leakage current test current approximation.
Although the insulation resistance tester and leakage current test can both be used to test the DUT insulation strength of the objects measured, some key differences are in the test process and results. The pressure test is done after the components the objects tested have come to high voltage to leakage current. The equipments of the current leakage test (touch current) imitate human resistance under the conditions in power.
