With global meltdown, deep recession and economy at its lowest form most of us are caught in the cobweb of bad credit. Many of us had the great credit reports with high credit scores but now find ourselves deep in credit card debts, delinquent loan payments, late fees, bankruptcy or even the threat of foreclosure. These all negative marks are putting their imprints everywhere. It is quite difficult or impossible to get fresh credit. Even insurance companies and prospective employers are looking at our credit reports before making their decision.
The coming New Year seems gloomy, let us see what best can be done to improve our credit rating.
First thing you do, get credit reports from three reporting agencies, like Trans Union, Experian, Equifax. Check them carefully, if any discrepancy found, get rectified. Remove all inaccurate information; turn it clean.
Take up your correct debt information that are delinquent; get in touch with the creditors and negotiate for amicable early settlement with lower interest rate or one- time settlement with 50% repayment of total debt. Not all will agree but some will. Insist your creditor to remove all settled debts from your credit reports and this will improve your credit faster.
Don’t go for any fresh credit or charge cards; amongst existing cards, better keep one or two for emergencies; surrender the rest.
Maintain a strict budget and pay the debts in time or if possible before time. Keep patience, it takes time to repair your credit and raise your credit score; just be determined.
Have a positive frame of mind for coming New Year and never back track. You will find yourself with great credit rating that you deserve.
With the idea how to improve your credit rating and get higher credit rating score, celebrate the New Year. Great times and Good luck.
