This traumatic period is commemorated by the waymarked long distance footpath and National Trail, Glyndwr's Way, which has proved popular with many tourists on holiday in Wales in recent years. St Cynfelin is reputed to be the founder of the church in Welshpool in what was known as "the age of the saints in Wales" in the 5th and 6th centuries, and the priest of St Mary's and St Cynfelin's church in 1411 was Adam of Usk.
