•    Air filters to be cleaned monthly - Make sure that the baseboard heaters and radiators, are operating smoothly and that they are cleaned as often as necessary; also ensure that they are not blocked by curtains, floor covering and fixtures.
The exhaust fans in the kitchen or the Bathrooms should be turned off within twenty minutes after one is finished with cooking or bathing  however if  they are left unattended to for longer periods then necessary they would affect the  temperature of the room.

•    Lighting Appliances - Sun is the cheapest form of light: working with windows open with natural light will help in saving energy.

One more way of saving energy would be to simply turn the lights off whenever you go out of the room, even if it is for a short while.

Usage of reflective backings in fluorescent lights would help generate maximum light.

Compact fluorescent lights are advisable. Both 4-watt mini fluorescent lights and 40-watt fluorescent lights would generate equivalent light.

•    Refrigerator Maintaining appropriate temperature in the refrigerator would help conserve energy.  Avoid keeping the Refrigerators open for too long; ensure that the gasket in the refrigerator is sealed properly to maintain the appropriate temperature needed.
